Last week, my good friend
and I had the chance to interview Jamie Siminoff, the creator of Ring, and Steve Spinelli, the President of Babson and the cofounder of Jiffy Lube, Inc., for CGN Live. Our two guests go way back: Jamie had attended Babson for college, and Steve was his professor at the time. Steve also wisely invested in Jamie in the early days of Ring. Their amusing rapport really shines through as they discuss:
Being entrepreneurial and not necessarily having to be an entrepreneur
Relationships and the human-to-human interactions that are core to their work and development
How they’ve learned resilience—not failure—through the challenges they’ve faced
How entrepreneurship takes time and can be a slow process of growing
How success depends a whole lot less on the product or invention and more on the mission and the team
I share this especially for those of you who may have younger learners in your midst who may be seeking some direction on how to think about their future and how to foster their entrepreneurial mindset. Watch to see the advice they give on what learners can be doing now to tinker and test out their ideas.
Happy watching!
