My good friend Michael B. Horn (also one of the best bosses I’ve ever worked for) is coming out with his bijillionth book next week called, Job Moves: 9 Steps for Making Progress in Your Career.
This book will be especially helpful for working learners and any adults who are navigating their second, third, or 15th job move. It offers so many practical ways of thinking through our career shifts and the many more to come.
Spoiler alert: There is no magical, perfect job. Job Moves is about clarifying what progress looks like to you in your life — understanding what moves and drives you, what gives you energy and what drains you.
This book is about pattern recognition.
I had a chance to chat with Michael, and we talked about this book specifically in the context of young people and how we might translate some of these same concepts to high school students and parents.
Michael and I co-host a webinar series for CGN all about career pathways, and so we were excited to think about how young people can begin thinking about their careers as an evolving prototype — something that will never be static.
Here are a few short clips, and the full episode is available at the bottom of this post. I hope you enjoy!
